Introduction
Management of the External Environment is often an under-appreciated and under leveraged function of a Company. It can be likened to a social science and, if invested in appropriately, can substantially help the financial and social well being of a company.
On the other hand the firm is destined to have a troubled existence and sometimes crisis if it allows the environment to ride on it.
External Environment Management (EEM):
will achieve all the more significance in the coming years due to the following mega trends
(i) Opportunities and challenges that will be available due to RTI, Lokpal& E- Governance
(ii) The increasing demand for superior governance and ethical behaviour that is bound to
Impinge on the working of corporates
(iii) The slew of new legislation and policy initiatives that companies will have to quickly assimilate into their operations
Programme Brief:
The programme will give an overview of all aspects of this function and provide in depth working example of one important segment, the State and Central Government.
It’s key objective is to develop a way of thinking and approach to this important function, provide significant insights into working of bureaucracy , and enjoin individual participants to make a go forward plan for their companies.
Instruments to be used will be presentations, role plays and case studies.
A senior government functionary from one of the most important departments will deepen understanding of system of government functioning .

What it is, how the firm should prepare for it, how it is linked to larger EEM principles.
Test cases of good and bad management of crises will be provided to illustratrate the principles

7.Role Plays-
these sessions will bring out some critical aspects of EEM with real life situations.

Mr. Kamal Kashyap
Mr Kashyap is an Indian Police Services (IPS) officer of the 1969 from where he retired as
Director General of Police, Mahrashtra.
His experience includes District Police administration;
Intelligence Bureau in New Delhi & other places;
establishing & implementing Commissionerate system of policing;
training police officers & men as the Director of Maharashtra Police Academy, Nasik;
heading state Intelligence apparatus as the Commissioner, Intelligence ;
running three Police Commissionerates (Nasik, Pune & Nagpur);
Commanding Home Guards & Civil Defence;
Maharashtra State Anti Corruption Bureau.
He is currently consulting leading corporates .
Mr. Arvind Kumar
he has had 30 years of management experience and
12 as Chief Executive Officer.
He has worked both in Indian and International markets with blue chip multinational like
Asian Paints,
Marico,
Pepsi,
Dabur and
Britannia.
He is currently a director with ‘ Empowered Learning Systems’ Pune.
