Introduction
With information reporting and processing across the globe moving to XBRL, there is a need to equip you and your company employees with the XBRL “know-how”. XBRL, an open standard, has its complexities, and a well designed training course can provide you with a jump start for acquiring the XBRL understanding.
XBRL Process has following components:
• Taxonomy Creation – Done by accountants with good domain knowledge and
• Tool Creation and Process Implementation – Done by MBAs, Software Engineers and other technology people.
The faculty for the workshop are a unique blend of domain experts (accounting professionals) and XBRL technology experts.
As domain experts, they have hands on experience of creating taxonomies and generating XBRL documents. The experience extends to all taxonomies like IFRS, US GAAP, UK GAAP, Indian GAAP & BASEL II, Mutual Funds, FINREP and COREP. Not only this, but they have also converted thousands of financial documents into XBRL Format.
Combined with the rich domain experience, the team of technology experts bring in the experience of conceptualizing, architecting and managing, nationwide, XBRL-based projects and solutions.

Program Schedule:
Training would be mostly through presentations and demos. The exercises are to be solved in hardcopies.

Training Methodology:
The team of trainers is a blend of both the domain experts and the product experts. The sessions on the XBRL Intricacies will be taken by experienced accountants (CAs/ICWAs) and the tool demonstration will be done by technology experts.

-Balachandran carries with him more than 18 years of experience in financial information, research and related technology driven solutions.
-Balachandran plays a key role in IRIS’ XBRL practice and led the project in building the Indian XBRL taxonomy
-He has spoken at several forums on XBRL, both in India and internationally and is also part of committees of the Ministry of Company Affairs, India.
-Before setting up IRIS, he previously worked as a research analyst at Tata Economic Consultancy Services and as a group leader at CRISIL (India’s premier rating agency).
-He is an MBA from IIM-Bangalore and also holds a B Tech degree in chemical engineering.
